Our unmatched cells have, however, been put through our voltage enhancement process - making them perform better than a standard untouched cell. As such, these cells are great for novice racing, or for practice.
You will find that racers using a pack made from our
unmatched cells will likely have as much punch at the
start of a race as a those using a low grade matched
pack. However, as the race goes on, and some of the
cells' stored energy is used up, the unmatched pack's
output voltage will degrade much faster than the matched
pack's voltage. This is because each of the cells in
the unmatched pack flatten at different rates - and
since R/C batteries are connected in series, this results
in the pack as a whole gradually losing performance
over the course of a run. Obviously, this is less than
ideal!
Matched cells, when connected in series, will suffer from much less voltage dropoff during the course of a run than their unmatched counterparts. Matched packs will tend to give out good voltage, then flatten very suddenly. This is optimal for racing purposes, since you want as much power as you can muster, to help you perform to your maximum potential!
